This Christmas Season we turn our hearts to the songs that surrounded the birth of Jesus. In the Gospel of Luke, the message of the Rescuer’s coming into the world prompted songs of hope, peace, joy, and love through the voices of those in the first Christmas. Mary, Zechariah, the angels, and Simeon each responded to the arrival of Christ with a song. Each, filled with the Spirit, proclaimed what God was doing and what His coming would mean for all people.

In our sermon series, Songs of Christmas, we’ll listen to the four songs in the Gospel of Luke and conclude the series from Psalm 40, asking what song do we sing; what song does the world hear from our lives.
December 7 | Mary’s Song: The Song of Hope – Luke 1:46-55
December 14 | Zechariah’s Song: The Song of Peace – Luke 1:67-79
December 21 | The Angel’s Song: The Song of Joy – Luke 2:8-14
December 28 | Simeon’s Song: The Song of Love – Luke 2:25-35
January 4 | Our Song: The Song of Testimony – Psalm 40

Devotional
To accompany this sermon series, our church staff has created a nine-day devotional booklet built around their favorite Christmas songs. Each devotional reflects on a cherished Christmas hymn or song, why it matters, how it points us to Jesus, and what action we might take this Christmas.

You can pick up a hard copy in the lobby at either campus or download a digital version. We encourage you to use this devotional personally or with your family for a time of family worship.

Merry Christmas!
